Foster Program Description: Battle of the Books is open to fifth and sixth graders and is sponsored by the Chandler Public Library. Breakfast time is between 8:15am- 8:33am.īattle of the Books with Mrs. Students will have the opportunity to eat a paid breakfast after the club. Attire: Athletic shoes (Tennis shoes with laces), no vans, no basketball shoes. They will learn how to set goals for themselves and learn a variety of strategies on ways to improve their overall personal performance. Students will also receive and track their personal mile time. Students will learn in-depth running mechanics, drills, interval training, Strides, and how to properly warm-up and cool down. Grades Levels of Students (Min and Max): 5th & 6th grade students from Basha Elementary / MAX: 15 students Start and End Date Program: Session 1: August 10 – December 14 Time and Days of the week: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:00-8:30 am Location (School and Room/Area): Basha Elementary / Media Center & LAB B Cost per Participant: $85.00 per session Holly Gutierrez / Special Instructions: Only students from Basha Elementary can apply and participate.Ĭross Country (5 week Program- Twice a Week) Students will build stamina and endurance as I teach them how to run cross country. Gutierrez and submit it on time in order to be considered for the program. 5th & 6th grade students from Basha Elementary must complete an application provided by Mrs. ![]() Academics and professionalism are required in the classroom, during shows, interviews and all program business and functions. Students must arrive on time to all meetings which will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00-8:30 am. Active attendance of weekly meetings and announcement duties is required to remain a member of the Media Program. Students & Parents are responsible for any damage incurred to the equipment as caused by inappropriate or negligent student behavior.
