![]() Service was awful.īack in March 2009, my wife and I were lucky enough to get into The Magic Castle in Los Angeles. There were a couple of tables and the main was okay. I expected a lot of magic since they mentioned you can't use your phone/camera inside the restaurant. I noticed the other table had bread and we never got bread as well. Not only did they not make a fresh dish, they just simply reheated the plate. My guest took a bite of the food and it was iced cold. ![]() The server said he/she was going to come and get us when the food arrives if we decide to walk around, well that didn't happen. I think the waitstaff missed the mark completely. In my opinion, with a menu that has a $65 steak, if we get up from the table, our napkins should be folded and when placing the silverware, you should place them correctly and not just throw them in the middle of the table. It took over 20 minutes for our server to greet us, and when he/she arrived, he/she did not introduce themselves and just asked what we wanted to drink. I don't typically write a review, but I really feel they can improve in many areas. Note: Men must have jackets no exceptions and we had to show our ID before they let us in.Ītmosphere was cool and different. Can't wait to go back for dinner, the 20 minute show and more magic. The food smelled really good and people seemed to be enjoying it. Drinks at the bar were good and bartenders courteous and knowledgable. We had so much fun watching and partcipating with the magicians. The space is nicely done down under the museum. We only went for drinks and the magic like the guy told us. Unfortunately my husband did not have a jacket which is mandatory for men so we could not go. He told us we could come back at 5 when they open, no reservation needed for drinks and to see the magicians. It is a speakeasy so no advertising is done (sign on the door etc). The guy was so nice and explained you enter through the museum. First of all we could not figure out where it was so we stopped in the Johnny Cash Museum when we were downtown. We have been reading about it and couldn't wait to see what it was all about. Reservations required for dining room, walk-ins welcome at bar subject to dress code. For dress code details, visit /reservations. Complimentary tickets to magic performances in the showroom are included with purchase of a dinner entrée. Guests are encouraged to explore the dining room to enjoy the rare collections and be entertained by some of America’s top magicians who are stationed throughout the venue to provide mind boggling illusions and tricks all evening long.
